DAB Valves, Derby

CIM is proud to announce that, for the 4th year in a row, we completed an Audit process for one of our clients Dab Valves of DERBY.

The Integrated Management system we built for the business was audited by SGS Baseffa Ltd against BS EN ISO/IEC 89979-34 standard (application of quality systems for equipment Manufacture) and The Atex directive.

This is a major win for the Dab valves business as it allows them to continue to manufacture and assign Atex rating on their product.

Congratulations to DAB!

CIM – Me & Dee Update

CIM – Me & Dee Update

Me & Dee update

As you may recall Me & Dee is our chosen charity for 2020 and we were recently contacted by the charity with some good news!

Me and Dee raise money to provide families with respite care in caravans or lodges giving them a chance to spend time together building precious memories. We were very proud to receive the below letter from them:

“We’re absolutely delighted to inform you that, with your help, we’ve been able to complete the purchase of the lodge and are now the proud owners of ‘me&dee’s hideaway’, 3 The Birches, Sherwood Hideaway. The target of £150,000 was a massive amount for us when we launched our 20/20 vision back in June 2019 but, with the help of companies and individuals alike, we got there. It was very emotional when two large donations pushed us over the line, something we never thought would happen during lockdown.

Thank you so much for your support in making our dream come true to own ‘our forever home’, a peaceful place in the forest for our families to make their memories together.”

CIM also featured on Me & Dee’s own newsletter last month and would like to take this opportunity to thank our clients, colleagues, friends, and family that have also supported this very worthy cause, which is incredibly close to our hearts. We would also like to congratulate Me & Dee on their beautiful new forever home, which will benefit many families for years to come.

George is off to the Army

George is off to the Army

George has been working with our Facilities Management team for the last few months but he’s now off to join the army as an aircraft technician. George will be missed by us all but we wish him all the very best for his amazing future.

Here’s what George thinks about his time with our company 🙂

‘During my time a CIM Associates UK Ltd, I have received an amazing standard of training and have learnt many new transferable skills which I can apply to a variety of working environments. This includes building upon time management skills, maintaining a high work ethic and organisational techniques. These accomplishments have consequently allowed me to ensure a high quality of work when on site. The team I worked with daily were always there to guide me whenever I was unsure of the task.

‘Furthering my career I will be joining the army working as an aircraft technician, here I intend to maintain the same standard of work ethic and organisational skills that I have gained working for CIM Associates.’

Managing Director, Ian Meredith said ‘George has been a great addition to our team at CIM Associates Facilities Management and we are going to miss him immensely. He’s got a great work ethic and will be an absolute credit to the army and with his attitude and maturity he’s got a very bright future ahead of him.’

Are your sickness levels spiralling out of control?

Are your sickness levels spiralling out of control?

Health and Safety Training

Three tips to manage sickness absence

Sickness levels can have a very damaging effect on your business, and it is essential that they are managed correctly. Potentially it can be very costly in terms of loss of long-term and high revenue customers as a result of not meeting your commitments. It can also have a ‘knock on’ effect on the morale and motivation of the remaining members of your workforce in having the added pressure of taking on the additional workload of absent colleagues. By applying some fundamental principles you can get your absence levels under control and reduce the risk to your business performance.

Tip 1: Ensure that your organisation has a formal absence policy which is clearly communicated and understood by all employees and is reviewed and updated regularly to reflect the latest changes in employment legislation. Without having a clear absence policy in place, any absence is unlikely to be recorded accurately and consistently, making it difficult to identify long-term, persistent short-term or complicated absence cases.

Tip 2: Use industry standard tools, such as the Bradford Factors, to help you to determine whether the short-term absence of your employees is becoming a problem.

Tip 3: Ensure that Return to Work interviews are conducted after each absence. A key advantage of conducting return to work interviews on a regular and consistent basis is that they give managers an opportunity to identify the possible underlying cause(s) of frequent absences at an early stage.

Don’t forget that you have access to all of these resources in HR Pulse.

HR Pulse will provide you with:
• accurate absence records
• triggers using the Bradford Factors to give you an early indication as to where absence levels are potentially a problem
• an absence report so that you can monitor absence on an ongoing basis
• legally compliant and intuitive people management tools which will signpost for you how to manage your employee’s absence effectively
• legally compliant and robust documents which support the absence management process.
We are also looking for referral partners where you can earn a share of our monthly subscriptions of clients you introduce to HR Pulse for the duration that they are a paying client.
